Startup founder, mentor & advisor
I’m Javier Cuello, CEO and entrepreneur with over 20 years of experience leading innovative projects.
My purpose is to leverage technology to make a real and positive impact on society.
From a young age, technology and music have been my greatest passions. At 21, I decided to transform the live music industry by developing the first fiber-optic sound transmission system for concerts in Latin America. Inexperienced, new to the sector, and with no connections, I began knocking on doors and learning the value of perseverance, constantly introducing myself and requesting meetings with everyone I met in the industry. Over time, this persistence led me to work with major artists like The Rolling Stones, Madonna, Roger Waters, and AC/DC, and even contributed to winning a Latin Grammy.
As time passed, I realized that my quest for innovation needed a purpose beyond entertainment. In 2012, I began learning programming, and in 2014, I launched educational projects that impacted thousands of people. I developed educational apps and offered free programming courses to those without access to formal education.
Throughout my career, I’ve held key roles in various organizations. I served as a technology advisor to the Ministry of Education, where I introduced 3D printers and robotics kits to public schools. My passion for empowering people led me to become the Director General of Science, Technology, and Innovation in Buenos Aires (2017-2018), where I led a team of 120 people in transformative projects.
After the successful sale of the family business, I shifted to digital transformation consulting and co-founded the Argentine Chamber of Drone Companies, which brought together key players in the tech ecosystem. It was during this time that I saw the potential for drones to transform sectors like organ transplantation in densely populated cities. This challenge led me to co-found H+Trace, a company committed to transforming the world through innovative technology solutions.
I’m convinced that the key to shaping the future lies in combining creativity, technology, and a deep desire to improve the world.
H+Trace was founded with the mission of making a positive impact through technology. In a world where traditional solutions are no longer enough, our vision is to offer solutions that not only improve business operations but also directly benefit society.
We help enhance medical diagnoses, reduce laboratory errors, and, in the future, aim to minimize food waste due to poor transportation.
I strive to be a transformational leader.
A change agent who provides the tools for continuous improvement. I believe that team motivation and conviction are key to success, both in the short and long term.
At H+Trace, honesty and transparency are core values that guide our decisions, and this is reflected in every aspect of our organizational culture.
My vision for H+Trace over the next five years is clear: we aim to scale our solutions globally and continue contributing to faster, more accurate diagnoses.
We want to make a positive impact on society by improving lives through technology. The future is full of opportunities, and my mission is to be at the forefront of these changes.
I love the startup ecosystem and have been fortunate to encounter talented and incredibly generous people along my journey. I truly enjoy giving back some of the generosity I received, which is why I often support and advise startups that are on a path similar to the one we traveled. I enjoy mentoring startups (such as with the Tampa Bay Wave accelerator), serving as a judge in various competitions, and occasionally advising early-stage investment funds. I also dedicate a few hours each semester to teaching about startups and digital business at renowned universities, which has allowed me to share my experience and knowledge with the entrepreneurial ecosystem.
The concepts of “give first" and “pay it forward” are fundamental. Give first means giving value without expecting anything in return, fostering collaboration and genuine relationships. Pay it forward means giving back what I’ve received, helping others instead of expecting a direct return. Both approaches focus on contributing to the growth of others and providing support to those just starting their journey, as I believe true success lies in helping others achieve their goals.
